AWS Cloud Cost Analyst

Local or Remote Position (Headquarters is in Rochester, New York)

 

Responsible for:

  • Developing AWS financial controls and guardrails for the Company with the ultimate goals of increasing revenue, decreasing costs, and minimizing/removing risk
  • Define tagging guidelines to ensure appropriate categorization of costs
  • Building automation to report on cloud infrastructure costs and operations
  • Developing Show Back, Charge Back, Cost Allocation, and budget forecast models
  • Implementing cost and control dashboards, configured with an alerting system for performance, usage, etc.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and partner with cloud architects to resolve/solution
  • Maintaining detailed cost allocation reports on spend by service, team, environment, and any other factors
  • Consistently logging and forecasting cloud costs
  • Recommending cloud cost reduction measures to ensure optimal configuration
  • Preparing regular reports on cloud costs, usage, and optimization efforts for the Leadership Team
  • Researching trends in AWS spend and provide recommendations for optimization
  • Partnering with other departments on projects that will help us optimize our AWS spend
  • Designing, implementing, and overseeing internal processes / controls to provide inputs to revenue and cost forecasting (In coordination with departmental leads)
  • Becoming a knowledge expert to technical team members to coordinate on FinOps questions related to cloud spend

What experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Technical field
  • Hands on experience with AWS, including AWS cost explorer, billing analysis and various cost optimization techniques
  • Understanding of billing and metering on cloud platforms
  • Must obtain AWS Associate Architect upon hire
  • Experience using Cloudcheckr or other CMP
  • Cloud arbitrage knowledge
  • Mastery level knowledge of Excel
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

Service Delivery Manager

Rochester, NY

You would be responsible for:

  • Working directly with Operations Leadership to manage and review work planning, capacity reporting, and daily utilization for the service delivery teams, including the following tasks:
    • Reviewing approving weekly timesheets for billable resources
    • Assigning work allocations appropriately
    • Ensuring work plans are up to date daily
    • Providing weekly reporting on utilization and gross margin to Leadership
  • Managing customer ticketing system, including assigning and escalating customer issues to appropriate resources as needed
  • Tracking and auditing daily timesheets for service delivery team members, ensuring the following:
    • Daily time is entered for each service delivery team member
    • Accurate time entry against projects and milestones
    • Identifying time entry issues and remediating them
  • Working collaboratively with Account Managers to complete the following:
    • Account Reviews are done on each customer on a regular cadence as set forth by Operations Leadership
    • Establish project budgets and ensure projects are executed within set budgets
    • Review all customer satisfaction incidents to ensure there is a proper remediation and prevention plan implemented for each issue
    • Soliciting CSAT and NPS data from all active customers and updating departmental dashboard data through regularly scheduled reporting mechanisms
  • Working directly with the Sales and Marketing teams on the following:
    • Resource allocation for Sales Support and Solution Engineering efforts
    • Completion of Project Shell requests and set ups
    • Managing expectations for capacity as it relates to pipeline management
    • Resource allocation for marketing activities, such as webinars, blog posts, white papers, etc.
  • Helping identify and implement initiatives that improve workflow, productivity, automation, and reporting across all Service Delivery teams.
  • Collaborating with internal technical resources to implement regular operations dashboard enhancements

  • Innate ability to manage multiple tasks at once and pivot on a moment’s notice
  • Strong aptitude for triaging and prioritizing, always in “ready” mode
  • Having a backbone and strong will to get things done

What experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Business-Related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience in service delivery and/or operations management roles
  • Managed services experience a plus, but not necessary!
  • Experience using and/or managing professional services automation system(s)
  • Proficient in data management and visualization
