The COVID-19 pandemic has caused major disruption to global markets and supply chains. Prioritization of customer and employee safety, rapidly changing consumer demand, and government/regulatory restrictions have forced manufacturers and distributors to become more agile in a quickly changing world.
As the long process of recovery begins, companies will need to reevaluate their processes across the enterprise – from marketing to sales, purchasing, production, warehouse management, shipping, and beyond – to ensure they’re able to seize opportunities for growth while staying one step ahead of a constantly changing environment.
Most legacy ERP systems aren’t built for this kind of agility. Rather than empowering rapid change, they’re built around an assumption that the way you do business is set in stone – from the day you implement to the day you switch systems. That approach just won’t cut it in 2020.
