Jody’s persistence for learning and education in the technology field has inspired her to leave an impact wherever she goes.

Born and raised in Rochester, her career started when she received her BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Dayton, and flourished after her MS in Software and Development from RIT. Jody started her post-college career in IT audit and information security and over the years has held numerous leadership roles spanning the major functions that bring technology solutions to people:  software engineering, software test and automation, portfolio and project management, you name it, and she’s done it.

Prior to joining Innovative, Jody was the Director of Software Development at Vuzix Corporation, where she was able to showcase her technical skills, alongside team management. With over 30 years’ experience, she’s held a variety of technology management roles in her tenure in the banking, payroll, news, legal information, and electronics/wearable augmented-reality industries. Jody has also taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Science department at RIT.

Innovation, life-long learning, continual improvement, and cultivating a positive work culture are regular themes in her work. This can be seen throughout her career, and moving outside her professional work into her many volunteer hours. Jody served on the Spencerport Board of Education for eleven years, including holding the role of Vice President. She had also served on SUNY Brockport’s Computer Science Advisory Board for six years.

In both these groups, she had been STEM education and enrichment, most notably in her ten-year work on Spencerport’s Technology Advisory committee.  She’s very proud to have been part of the district’s recent expansion of the technology curriculum to a four-year program and with a senior-year independent study option in Computer Science.

Jody’s passion for education and promoting careers here in Rochester led her to being nominated as a 2019 Technology Woman of the Year through TechRochester in 2019. She finds that she has a passion for talking to students as they choose their career path down the STEM field. Her dedication and passion for education has led her to make a substantial impact.

Jody currently resides in Spencerport, and has two grown sons. In her free time, she has competed at the U.S. Women’s Open for bowling in California. She’s proven many times that she can handle almost anything thrown her way, and Innovative is no exception. She is ready to join the team and start her Innovative journey!
